Deli Shift Manager
Food and drink service, 1 yr barista experience essential
We offer a wide range of produce and ready-to-eat food to eat in or takeaway, much of which is produced in-house in our on-site kitchen and production kitchen down the road. The grocery offering includes an impressive cheese and charcuterie counter, fresh vegetebles, meat and fish, wine, spirits and beers, daily fresh bread, and much much more. In the cafe, we serve Monmouth coffee, homemade savouries and a daily changing seasonal salad bar, as well as sandwiches and an array of sweet pastries and cakes. The shop can be very busy at times and it takes attentive management to make sure customers are properly taken care of while shelves are kept stocked, deliveries recieved and tasks delegated to staff. We are looking for a Shift Manager to join our team in an existing full time role across five shifts each week. Working under our GM and Assistant Manager, they will be expected to manage the shop and a small team in their absence, including goods-receiving, merchandising, basic ordering as well as opening and closing duties. In addition, all staff are required to prepare hot drinks, serve on the deli counter, and serve customers from the till and at table. Applicants should have a minimum of one year's customer service experience in a food and beverage environment, including good barista know-how. They should have a keen interest in fine food with some existing knowledge of artisan food and drink production. The successful candidate will show that they are calm under the pressure of a busy shop whilst being able to delegate tasks and impress with their customer service. They will demonstrate common sense and initiative with problem solving and, above all else, show a positive can-do attitude.
